Welcome to the Post Falls Visual Preference Survey
When working to address issues of growth and development, Visual Preference Surveys (VPS) begin the process of citizen input. Because of their participatory nature and because they track opinions across an entire community, the VPS makes planning more democratic and market responsive. In fact, opinions provided here will factor directly into the developing recommendations.
The survey, which will remain live and available on this site for two weeks after the charrette concludes, is divided into five areas. Groupings of images are specifically formulated to probe for future development options in these areas:
Streets
Pedestrian Areas
Parks and Open Spaces
Retail
Residential
Your job is evaluating the images based on how appropriate they are to
their place on a rural to urban continuum (often called “the Transect”).
The categories are:
T1 – Natural Zone or Wilderness
T2 – Rural Zone or Farmland
T3 – Sub-Urban Zone
T4 – General Neighborhood Zone
T5 – Town Center or Main Street Zone
T6 – Downtown Core
Please rate the images for how much you would like to see similar examples
in Post Falls, both today and in the future. A +10 is a must see; a -10 is
a must avoid.
The images are intended to illustrate conceptual ideas and do not represent
any proposal for a specific location.
